Let Sunway help you plan that trip you are looking for, where you get to spend time with and enjoy making special memories with friends and family.
Due to limited availability of rooms at our preferred lodges it is often best to start with a normal scheduled Sunway departure date, and then adjust the itinerary as required. However, we’re happy to help plan and quote on any route that you are interested in. You’ll need to book private departures early because we have a limited capacity of vehicles and guides.
Private groups are most cost effective when you have at least 6 to 12 people, although we do also operate small private safaris in our 6+1 seater Land Cruisers, and we can also comfortably operate groups of up to 18 clients.
Our Guides
Our friendly and professional guides will show you the beauty of this fantastic continent and explain the nature, history and culture of the land and its people. The guides are well trained, experienced and enthusiastic professionals dedicated to providing you with the holiday of a lifetime in Africa. They are licensed with both the Field Guides Association of South Africa (FGASA) and the South African Department of Environment and Tourism (DEAT) and are fully trained in First Aid.
Family Safaris
How it works
Many of the Sunway small, privately owned and preferred lodges have limited room capacity, therefore we make our scheduled tour accommodation bookings long in advance. In our experience trying to get accommodation group bookings at some of the key destinations, particularly in high season, can be challenging. By using a scheduled tour we can also make use of the vehicles in locations they are planned to be, and thus avoid long distance empty vehicle relocation costs, ultimately making the private guided tour as cost effective as possible.
So when planning a private guided tour we generally start with a scheduled tour departure, and close it out for exclusive private group
use. This means that we already have accommodation secured and vehicles and guides scheduled, making planning more cost effective and ensuring availability at our preferred lodges.
Group Sizes
Private safaris are most cost-effective for groups of 6 to 12 people, but we regularly operate small private tours in our 6+1 seat Land Cruisers. For larger groups, we can comfortably accommodate up to 20 guests.
